Narrative Description of Project:

The proposed World Bank assisted project sought to assist the Government of Andhra Pradesh in its pursuit of sector wide reforms in the RWSS sector by helping them establish necessary institutional arrangements, building institutional and human capacity, and bridging financing gaps. The proposed development objective for the Andhra Pradesh Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (APRWSS) Project is to assist Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) in increasing access of rural communities to reliable, sustainable and affordable RWSS services.


Description of Actual services provided by the staff

Assess the training / learning requirement of the RWSS Sector Program stakeholders at various levels based on an identification and analysis of the gaps, so as to enable them perform their functions effectively.


Develop a strategy and an implementation action plan for managing the capacity building component commensurate with the scheme / batch cycle.


Estimate and prepare detailed financial implications of the components and present in the form of cost tables.


Assess the existing training program vis-à-vis the requirements and develop a program, curricula and courses including that required for training of the trainers and suggest appropriate methodologies thereof, including resource persons / agencies.
