Narrative description of Project:
The Stop Diarrhoea Initiative (SDI) a flagship programme of Save the Children with a focus on 9 districts in 4 states, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi. The initiative aim was:
At least 50% reduction in the prevalence of diarrhea amongst children under five by the end of the programme.
At least 50% reduction in the incidence of acute diarrhea among children under five by the end of the programme from three to four episodes to less than two per year
An estimated 80% reduction in diarrhea Case Fatality Rate (CFR) in clinics in under five deaths by the end of the programme
13% across intervention reduction in diarrhea related deaths amongst children under five by the end of the programme
Description of actual services provided by your staff within the assignment:
Training a batch of 40 – 50 participants on sites selected by SDI on CLTS
Training of the District Programme Officers, Community Volunteers, BCC persons involved in the implementation of Stop Diarrhea Initiative
Action plans for Pre Triggering, Triggering, Follow-up, Training and Capacity Building
Participatory training with specific features of urban and rural geographies of the SDI
