Narrative description of Project:
To understand the slum communities’ perceptions, awareness, knowledge and practices related to sanitation and hygiene.
To identify the high risk hygiene practices amongst a cross section of slum communities.
To identify potential motivators (i.e. motivations and triggers most likely to result in a change in behavior) for bringing about a change in behavior.
To Identify the most effective channels, resources and agents for communicating key messeges for bringing a change in behavior.
Description of actual services provided by your staff within the assignment:
The study undertaken in three ULBs – Patna, Biharsharif and Gaya by selection of total 15 slums (3 to 4 slums selected in each ULB)
Focus group discussion held with different groups including men and women, young mothers, adolescent girls and boys, children in schools
Short structured surveys conducted in selected households, schools and anganwadis in eash slum.
Structured observations undertaken in the households, schools and anganwadi survey.
