Narrative Description of Project:

• Large Scale Community Mobilization on Successful Implementation of SLWM, MHM, ODF Sustainability (ODF - S) and ODF Plus (ODF - P) under the Programme of MNB in 13 Sunderban Blocks under South 24 Parganas District, West Bengal

• Sensitization of District / Block / GP officials and PRI functionaries about SLWM, MHM and retrofitting of constructed toilets throughout the district for improving the overall cleanliness of the gram panchayat / village

  
  

Description of Actual services provided by the staff:

• Block level 5-Day Training of Facilitators/Swachhagrahis (Sangh Netris of SHGs, VRPs, MNREGS Supervisors, Youth Club leaders, Social Workers, PRI members etc) on ODF- Plus

• Gangasagar Mela 2020: Coordinate with communication agency to implement a high visibility campaign strategy for branding Ganga Sagar Mela 2020 as Eco- friendly mela

• Help create a dedicated and trained pool of volunteers enroute to Gangasagar Mela for ensuring single use plastic free mela by promoting eco-friendly alternatives.

• Capacity Building of PRIs, Govt. officials, Masons, CF, other line dept. staff etc. on SLWM and MHM in 13 blocks of Sundarbans for improving the overall cleanliness of GPs/Villages

• Capacity building of councilors, Municipal staff, SHG leaders, volunteers etc. on ODF ++ in one selected Municipality

• Mega Conferences: On Gangasagar Mela for identification potential partners both individuals and institutional, innovative initiatives and avenues for additional resource mobilization

• On community led solid and liquid waste management; challenges and solutions in Sunderbans

• On innovative ways for generation of community demand and sharing of community based models for rain water harvesting in Sundarbans

• Orientation of children of school / ICDS / SSK / MSK / HS / Madarsa etc. on health hygiene issue
