Narrative Description of Project:

WSP had been providing strategic technical support to state governments, especially for developing state level strategies for using community led total sanitation (CLTS) to achieve Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) objectives of Government of India. Knowledge Links was selected as the CLTS professional partner to assist states and district agencies with the orientation and capacity building activities required for developing CLTS based strategy and capacity for implementation of TSC across different districts and states. 

Description of Actual services provided by the staff

Engage with state government/s for facilitation and organization of CLTS orientation and consultation workshops; development of a state level strategy, which incorporates a CLTS based approach to achieve ODF outcomes across all the districts in Himachal Pradesh and some districts across other states.

Facilitate exposure visits to states and communities which have achieved good results in achieving rural sanitation, to enable the participants to ‘see and learn’ the process to achieve total sanitation. Support state’s and districts to develop an implementation frame work including  a detailed capacity building strategy.

Undertake the development of modules for various training programs for stakeholders at all levels. Facilitate and/or undertake training programs for various stakeholders, as per need.
