Narrative Description of Project:
Tata Water Mission (TWM) was being carried out across a number of districts in seven states of Gujarat, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Nagaland, and Odisha. In the first year, it was proposed to cover around 349 villages in more than 14 districts across the five states of Gujarat, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The proposed third party monitoring and assessment was intended to undertake concurrent monitoring of implementation of the WASH interventions under TWM. This exercise aimed at assessing the strategy, direction and quality of programmatic interventions to ensure that they are in line with the desired impact and to suggest appropriate corrective measures at different stages of the implementation.
Description of Actual services provided by the staff
Actual services included monitoring and assessment of the following: water quality monitoring; water access and conservation; and sanitation and hygiene. The key activities proposed to be undertaken to cover these aspects included: technology interventions to improve the quality of water; improving service delivery at the household level; effective and sustainable water management; and improved access to sanitation.
