Narrative Description of Project:
The assignment aimed at creating a comprehensive training package for training trainers and sanitation functionaries at the national, state, district, and sub-district levels.
Actual Description of the Services Provided
i) Design and development of two sets of training modules for organising both face-to-face and virtual training programmes on community approaches to sanitation (CATS)/CLTS across 10-30 locations simultaneously using the virtual classroom/video conferencing technology (ICT): these programmes include (i) a one day training for district collectors and their district teams; and (ii) a five day training programme for community/facilitators. A series of 25 training programmes are proposed to be organised to cover all the remaining 630 districts in the country over next 7-8 months during May-December 2016.
ii) Designing and conducting a two day orientation programme on community approaches to sanitation (CATS) including community led total sanitation (CLTS) for more than 180 trainee officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussorie
iii) Designing and pilot-testing a module on community approaches to sanitation (CATS) and Menstrual Hygiene and Management (MHM) for the women members of the self-help groups (SHGs) and their federations formed under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) in a three days training programme.
iv) Preparation of Communication Training Package:Undertake a review the Tarang SBCC training package and the communication for Social and Behaviour Change learning modules for academic and training institututions in India developed by UNICEF. Expand and adapt the Tarang package for communication capacity building for water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) integrating key communication elements from the CATS module developed.
